"WHERE? HERE."– A SOLO EXHIBITION BY WAI WAI

In a city where neon lights have gradually faded, we can still shine. Wai Wai captures both the reality and imagination of Hong Kong through painting — from urban sketches to her original characters, Totowai and Pineapple Cat. Each brushstroke is an act of care, a quiet form of hope. This exhibition is a love letter of light, dedicated to those who still hold this city close to heart.

'Bird’s Eye Sketch: Yau Ma Tei Unfolded' Urban Sketching Workshop with Wai Wai

​

Head up to the 22nd floor of Tung Nam Lou Art Hotel and join local illustrator Wai Wai for a unique sketching session overlooking the rooftops and skyline of Yau Ma Tei. Surrounded by the layered textures of old buildings, signage, and urban geometry, you’ll capture the spirit of this historic neighbourhood from above.

 

Through guided observation and hands-on exercises, you’ll explore how to translate the cityscape into lines, light, and personal expression. Whether you’re new to sketching or looking to deepen your practice, this workshop invites you to slow down and see the city from a fresh perspective.

慧惠以繪畫記錄香港的真實與幻想，從街頭速寫到原創角色——小杜惠與菠蘿貓，每一道筆觸，都是一種守護，也是一種希望。

這場展覽，是獻給仍愛我城的人們，一封光之情書。

「鳥瞰．城市速寫油麻地」工作坊｜導師：慧惠 Wai Wai
 

走上東南樓藝術酒店22樓，與本地插畫師慧惠一同俯瞰油麻地的城市風景，用畫筆記錄這個社區的獨特面貌。從天台景觀、樓宇線條、舊區天際線到城市紋理，透過速寫，慢慢描繪出這個充滿故事的社區。

工作坊將透過觀察練習與構圖引導，帶你學習如何以速寫方式表達城市風景與個人視角。無論你是初學者或已有繪畫經驗，都歡迎加入這場「用畫眼看城市」的體驗。
