"Can you make a living out of drawings?"

 

Many have asked the same question, including the illustrator Wai Wai. 

 

She has always dreamed to be a painter since she was young. In 2016, she resigned from her graphic designer job and held the first solo exhibition of her illustrations about Hong Kong small shops at Silver Stationery Shop in San Po Kong. She then continues to paint and draw over the next four years. Not only was she able to make a living, but she has also learned a lot more different sides of Hong Kong.  It is like a dream to her to have developed a better self in career and life.

「畫畫搵唔搵到食？」

 

這是很多人，包括插畫家慧惠都曾經問過的問題。

 

自小發夢成為畫家的她，於2016年裸辭平面設計的工作，並在當年位於新蒲崗的銀の文房具舉辦有關香港小店的個人畫展，接著不斷揮動畫筆的四年，畫畫帶給慧惠的是滿滿的祝福，不但能維持正常生活，更使她了解更多香港不同的面貌，能夠在生活和事業上發展成為更好的自己，對她來說就像是做夢一樣。

 

香港九龍新界每個看似平凡的角落，在香港插畫家慧惠筆下，都變得細膩而感情豐富，她的作品不知不覺地記下香港當下的美麗與哀愁，成為歷史的見證。這次慧惠個展《當夢不是夢》將會展出慧惠的原畫，包括她的寫生作品、《給油麻地的情書》的插畫、受委託的插畫作品、絵手紙（日式明信片）等，讓大家近距離感受藝術家家的情感。
