Etegami 絵手紙

Etegami is a Japanese folk art consisting of simple hand-painted drawings accompanied by a few apt words, and they are almost always done on postcards for quick and easy mailing. The basic concept has been around for a long time; the tradition of handmade New Year cards testifies to this.

「絵手紙」始於日本，就是「寄出一封有圖畫的信」的意思。絵手紙的目的並非為將畫畫美，而是為了建立繪者、收信人與受繪物之間的關係。
